  • 1840 - Geo. W. Lynch born near Navasota, Grimes county.
  • 1860-07-04 - married Cyllanae Hargrave. [3]
  • 1860-08-14 - signed resolution of vigilance at Hockley. [4]
  • 1860-09-10 - George & Cyllanae are recorded on the census in Lynchburg, Harris county. [5]
  • 1860-11-06 - Abraham Lincoln won presidency.
  • 1861-04-04 - Abraham Lincoln took office.
  • 1861 - Their first child, Caroline, was born.
  • 1861-10-26 - 160 acres in Titus county, Bowie Scrip. [6]
  • 1862 - George enlisted as a private in Col. Henry M. Elmore's 20th Regiment, Texas Infantry; in Grimes county.
  • 1862-04-12 - Confederates fire first shot of the Civil War at Fort Sumpter.
  • 1863-01-01 - The 20th took part in the battle of Galveston.
  • 1865-06-02 - the 20th surrendered at Galveston.
  • 1865 - George Lynch filed as a Confederate Indigent Family in Grimes county. [7]
  • 1865 - a G.W. Lynch on Grimes cty tax rolls. [8]
  • 1866 - Their second child, Lusenia, was born.
  • 1867 - a Geo. Lynch on Grimes county tax rolls. [9] [10]
  • 1867 - Their first son, Wanon(?), was born.
  • 1868 - a Geo. Lynch on Grimes county tax rolls. [11] [12].

  • 1869 - Their second son, Joseph, was born.
  • 1867 - Four more children born through 1878.
  • 1869-05-08 - Geo W Lynch purchased part of Thomas Ellington & J. Mills survey in southern part of Grimes county for $350. [14] [15]
  • 1870 - a Geo. Lynch on Grimes county tax rolls. [16].
  • 1870-07-28 - George, Plomonia and their four children are on 1870 census in Courtney, Grimes county. [17]
  • 1871 - a Geo. Lynch on Grimes county tax rolls. [18].
  • 1871-03-20 - Cyllanae Lynch bought 116 acres in southern Grimes county. [19]
  • 1871 - Sometime before 1878, George moved his family to a farm at Spring Creek, Waller county.
  • 1873 - a Geo. Lynch on Grimes county tax rolls. [20].
  • 1874 - Sometime between 1870 and 1874 Musco Boulware moved his family to a cotton plantation at Spring Creek, Waller county, adjacent to George & Cyllanae Lynch's farm.
  • 1878-08 - Cyllanae died following child birth.
  • 1878-09-10 - Galveston surprised by a hurricane, San Antonio experienced heavy rainfall.[21] [22]
  • 1878-09-13 - George W. Lynch was shot twice and his children murdered.
  • 1878-09-27 - Robt W. Finklea "a valuable state witness" to the Lynch murders was himself murdered before he could be formally interviewed.[23]
  • 1878-10-26 - George Lynch & John Binford shot at each other in Hockley.[24] [25] [26]
  • 1879-10-13 - Frank Hargrave, brother-in-law of George Lynch, shot and killed Musco Boulware IV at Field's Store. [27] [28] [29]
  • 1880 - George Lynch found on the census in Leadville, Lake cty, Colorado as a miner. [30]
  • 1881-06-18 - George Lynch convicted of murder and incarcerated in Colorado State Penitentiary. [31]
  • 1881-07-03 - George Lynch convicted of the murder of Charles Lyles. [32] [33] [34]
  • 1881-07-18 - George Lynch given life sentence. [35]
  • 1893-04-25 - George Lynch pardoned and released from Colorado penitentiary. [36]
