U.S. & Territorial Censuses.
Evidence for the Dalton family
There is no reference in any of these to any relative named Phillips or Bea or Elizabeth.
The census records provide useful information for the Dalton family – unless one is trying to prove a daughter that does not exist. So where is Bea or Elizabeth? She would only be 13 or 14 in the 1870 census. No trace of her is found on the 1860, 1870 or 1880 censuses either with her family, living with another family or as the wife of Tom Phillips. In fact, no one named Bea or Beatrice Elizabeth, born circa 1856 in Missouri, is found under any surname on any census or other official document.

1860 Census
If you can find the Dalton family on the 1860 census, please send it to me.
The family was likely never enumerated on the 1860 census. Frank F. Latta interviewed Littleton Dalton for his book "Dalton Gang Days" and he told Frank his family left Missouri, stopped briefly in Denver, CO in 1860 and moved on to Kansas.
