The Kirby-Steele Murder Case.

Hempstead, May 15. — The preliminary examination of Colonel Kirby, charged with the murder of John Steele here on May 5, resulted in a refusal to grant bail, and the defendant was remanded to the Brenham jail. A writ of habeas corpus will be sued out and tried before a district Judge.
