Shooting Occurred about Eight Miles from Hempstead — Brother of Congressman Pinckney.

Hempstead, Texas, April 10. — News was received here about dark this evening that Tucker Pinckney was shot and killed about eight miles southeast of Hempstead by unknown parties.
From the meager reports received the parties who did the shooting were negroes.
The officials have gone to the scene of the killing. The deceased leaves three brothers, Congressman John M. Pinckney, Thomas D. and R. H. Pinckney and one sister, Miss Sue Pinckney.
The deceased was a prominent citizen and his death is deplored by all.
