To-night it was reported in the streets that the jury in the McDade murder case had reached a verdict, but upon investigation it was found that they had simply made an effort to get the judge to secure from him some further instructions, but he having gone to Galveston on the late train, they were returned to their room and locked up again to await his return in the morning.
