Negro Shot at Hempstead.

HEMPSTEAD, Texas, November 18, 1882. — A negro named Tom Taylor was shot this evening, at 5 o'clock, by George Lawrence.  Lawrence fled, with Deputy Sheriff Browning in pursuit.  Whisky is supposed to be at the bottom of it.
