We learn from a passenger by the Central train, that Mr. L. Springfield shot and killed Mr. Clinton Fort, a lawyer of Bellville, at Hempstead yesterday morning. It seems the parties had a difficulty some time last week concerning some money matters, in which Mr. Fort accused Mr. Springfield of stealing five thousand dollars.
Mr. Springfield met Mr. Fort yesterday morning and discharged both barrels of a shot gun and an derringer pistol at him, killing him instantly.
