88 Joseph Cloud, (Joseph, Robert, William,), son of Joseph and Sisley Cloud, born died
Married Sarah Pyle, January 17, 1751, at Old Swedes Church, Wilmington, Delaware, She was his first cousin, and probably daughter of Samuel and Sarah Pyle, and if so then born in 1730. For this breach of discipline in marrying his first cousin contrary to the practice of Friends, and for having the (?) carts (? illegible ?) some years before he was disowned by Friends, 5 mo. 6, 1766.

The records of Kennett Meeting of Friends, show that Sarah Cloud wife of Joseph Cloud, formerly Sarah Pyle, offered acknowledgement for her former misconduct and produced an account from Friends where she resides. The acknowledgement was accepted. Sarah Cloud wife of Joseph produced a certificate from Kennett to Concord Monthly Meeting, 2 mo. 4, 1764.

By his father's will he received £70 and was to work with his brother Robert Cloud till he was 21 years of age, after the manner of an apprentice to learn the trade of weaver. The said will was dated Nov. 30, 1745. Joseph Cloud died intestate and Letters of Administration were granted to his son Joseph Cloud, August 4, 1791, the widow Sarah Cloud renouncing. John Hayes was surety in the sum of £150.
