1. John Robert McDade, b. 5/29/1842, in Ala. d. 8/31/1912, in Tex. m. Sarah Alice Curtis, daughter of Dr. Montague Curtis, of Jamestown, N. Y. Six children;

a. Nannie May, married D. C. Baker. Children; J. R. and Charles Baker; Anna May (Baker) Chadwick, of Brenham, Tex. and Blanch (Baker) Smith, (Mrs. Roy), of San Antonio, Tex.

b. Charles Alexander, died age 18.

c. Leland, died age 4.

d. Montague, died an infant.

e. James Madison McDade, born in 1885, m. 1st, Edna Murial Brown, of Boston, who died 7/26/1936. Married, 2nd, Irene Clark, of Okla City, Okla. His name appears in the "Report of the Annual Record Target Practice, 1906," as a member of the turret crew, of the U.S.S. Missouri, whose marksmanship caused the creation, by President Theodore Roosevelt, of the Navy "E". In 1942, the "Navy Cross" was awarded to him, for his act of bravery beyond the call of duty, when an explosion occurred on the Missouri, in 1903.

2. Thomas Lee McDade, b. 12/25/1844, inMiss. d. 6/16/1886.

3. Martha J. (Mattie) McDade, b. 9/29/1848, Kemper Co. Miss, d. 1/19/1936, Chapel Hill, Tex. m. Feb. 1868, Jas. Norfolk Cocke, b. 10/3/1840, in Galveston Island, Rep.of Tex. son of Maj. Jas. Hartwell Cocke, and Elizabeth Norfolk, who married in Virginia, in 1825. Children. Charles Hartwell; Owen Norfolk; Martha, married King Felder; Elizabeth Nancy, married a Chappel. Their son, Dr. Robert Chappel resided in Navasota, Tex.

4. Letitia McDade, b. 3/19/1851, d. 6/19/1855.

5. Nannie (Nancy) S. McDade, b. 8/8/1855, in Texas d. 7/6/1891, m. Scurry Foster. Six children. Dora, married a Mathews; Norfolk; John Owen; Eva married Roy Carlisle; Mabie; Nancy married Suter Haywood.

6. Marjory V. McDade, b. about 1858, married 1st, a Reed. One child, Alice who married a Miller. Marjory married 2nd, R. L. Whiddon. Known children; Thomas L, Reba and Blanche.

E. Unity McDade, b. in Georgia, m. 12/25/1831, Montgomery, Co. Ala, George W. Edwards, brother to Eliza Edwards, who married Unity's brother, James. Their first child, Nancy was born 1/10/1833. Names of other children, not known.

F. Williamson (William) McDade, born in Ala. moved to Louisianna, and married, about 1847, his cousin Caroline, daughter of James Germany and Nancy (Miller) McDade. Later he moved to Fannin Co. Tex. The 1860 Census, lists him as age 40; wife
