On July 12, 1825, Miriam married Gaines Brack, son of John and Roxanna Brack, (Montgy. Co. Mar. Bk. 1838-1850 p 311) She was buried at Harper's Hill on the property of Ann (Pinkston) Harper, near the little village of Mitylene, between Montgomery and Mt. Meigs. Her tombstone reads, "Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Miriam Brack, who departed this life on the 26th of March 1837, in the 43rd year of her age." On the foot-stone is "M. A. B."
There were no children by this marriage.
Gaines Brack married 2nd, 7/23/1839, Elizabeth Huggins. His will probated 6/3/1844, directed that some slaves be given Sarah Lide, his step-daughter. (Montgy. Co. Rec.)
A. Sarah Ann, daughter of Thomas, Jr. and Miriam (Armstrong) Vickers, was born in Georgia, about 1814. She married, prior to 1835, Thomas Robert Lide, son of John and Elizabeth Lide. Thomas Robert Lide died 7/5/1874, and Sarah in 1884. Both are buried at Harper's Hill.
"John Lide, was born in 1769, and married in 1789, Elizabeth Bennyfield, who was born in 1768. He died 6/7/1813 and she died 8/19/1837. Their thirteenth child was Thomas Robert Lide, b. 12/22/1811." John and Elizabeth Lide had the following children:
Mary Ann, born 1791, married Laban Temple and lived in Mt. Meigs.
Marcy, b. 12/10/1793.
John, b. 9/3/1795.
Nancy (Ann) b. 10/2/1797, married Sam Dickson. Their third son, Thomas married his cousin, Mary Jane, daughter of Mary and Laban Temple.
Elizabeth, b. 4/1/1799.
Charles Augustus, b. 6/1/1801.
John Julius, b. 1/7/1803, m. Mary Lamb. One daughter Sarah, married a Carter, and had four children, one of whom, Mrs. Naftle, was living in Montgomery in 1903.
Eliza, married Vernon Hicks.
Harriett, after her sister, Eliza's, death married Vernon Hicks. Seven children. All died prior to 1899.
Sophia, b. 12/15/1806.
William Pegues, b. 5/26/1808.
Catherine Margaret, b. 9/11/1809. d. 2/7/1810.
Thomas Robert, b. 12/22/1811.
