and was incorporated under the laws of Alabama. It was organized by a small group of women, including a great niece of William Tucker Armstrong and Gabriel M. Armstrong.
A silver cup given to Ellen Armstrong, wife of Jas. F. Armstrong by Margaret Armstrong, wife of Wm. Tucker Armstrong, is now in the possession of grand-daughters of Jas. F. Armstrong.
William Tucker Armstrong, b. 3/15/1814, d/2/7/1887, m. 11/27/1856, Margaret Elizabeth Francis, d. 5/14/1940, daughter of Miller Francis and wife Nancy (Lakey) Francis. Seven children:
1. Nancy Emma Armstrong, b. 5/12/1859, d. 12/16/1870.
2. William Tucker Armstrong, Jr. b. 1/15/1861, d. 1/4/1947, m. 12/28/1910, Miss O". Dee Smith. Two children.
a. William Tucker, 3rd, married and had two children, Wm. T. 4th, and a daughter, Brooke.
b. Katherine.
3. Miller Francis Armstrong, b. 7/1/1863, d. 9/13/1954. At the time of his death he was the oldest living graduate of the Tex. A. & M. College, having graduated in 1882. When the Masonic Lodge was organized in Mission, Tex. he and one other were the first candidates received in the lodge. On Oct. 6, 1897 he married Miss Dolie Keesee, daughter of Gideon and Cary Pleasants Keesee. Two children.
a. Lady Cary, married Jas. A. Gillett, of Mission. No children.
b. Miller Francis, Jr. married and had two children.
i. Rev. Miller Francis, 3rd, an Episcopal Rector, married Mary Ann Mann, July 20, 1957.
ii. Robert, resides, Houston, Tex. Has two daughters.
4. James Franklin Armstrong, b. 2/25/1868, d. Mar. 1932, m. 4/14/1897, Mary Tennie Kendrick, d. 3/31/1924. Three children.
a. James demons. Unmarried.
b. Lillian Beatrice, b. 3/8/1899, m. 1/16/1924, Herbert Spencer Allen. Child.
i. Joanne Frances, b. 2/14/1929, m. 1/16/1953, David Graham Beerbower. Has one child John David, b. 5/13/1957.
Lillian married, 2nd, a Cunningham. After his death she married Herbert G. Shudde, March 15, 1957.
c. John K. born 12/31/1902.
5. Margaret Lydia Armstrong, b. 11/10/1870, m. 3/12/1902, Wayne Blackburn, d. 3/22/1910. Margaret died, 1958, in Burton, Texas. Four children:
a. Mary Lee, b. 1/21/1903, m. 10/4/1928, Marshall Allen
