Confederacy. He was a wealthy broker in New York, being president of the A. P. Youngblood Co., and had a seat on the N. Y. Produce Exchange for a quarter of a century.

A. P. Youngblood married about 1870, Mollie Wimbish, of LaGrange, Ga. They had seven children.

a. Dudley, married and had several children.

b. Adelaide. Died unmarried.

c. Emma Lou, married, - 1897 - Dr. John Pittman. Several children, one of whom was Dr. John Pittman, Jr. of Gaffney, S. C.

d. Nellie, married a Moore. Two children.

e. Scott. Deceased.

f. Jay, deceased. Married Ellen One daughter.

g. Paul, deceased.

2. Oliver Shorter Youngblood, b. 4/23/1850. Died 1856.

3. Virginia Augusta (Gussie) Youngblood, b. 1/16/1852, died at Union Springs, Ala, in 1868, a few months after graduation from the Academy at Arcadia, Ala. of which her first cousin, Edward Y. Mc Morries was principal.

F. Oliver Youngblood, sixth child of Thomas and Jane (Head) Youngblood was born in Edgefield, S. C. March 5, 1819, and died in Anson, Texas, Nov. 1899. He went, with his parents, to Pike Co. Ala in 1834. Upon completion of his academic schooling, his parents sent him back to South Carolina for further education. He graduated from the Charleston Medical College and returned to Alabama, where he became, not only a prominent physician in Pike Co, but a successful planter as well. Hewas apparently a man of considerable wealth, for during the dark days of the War Between the States, he sent his three eldest daughters, Martha Evelyn, Emma Josephine and Susan Jane Augusta, to Judson College, in Marion, Ala. He married, 8/23/1842, Tinzy Townsend, b. 2/2/1822, d. 1906, in Anson, Tex.

Tinzy was the daughter of Eli Townsend, who was born in Hancock Co. Ga. 4/16/1794. Eli married about 1915, Susan Aylor, daughter of John and Mary (Hammonds) Aylor (Oehler) of Wilkes Co. Ga. January 1817, Eli and Susan Townsend settled in Mt. Meigs, Ala. and upon the formation of Pike Co, in 1821, moved to China Grove, where he died 5/19/1867.

Oliver and Tinzy (Townsend) Youngblood had nine children.

1. Martha Evelyn Youngblood, b. 1844, China Grove, Ala, married Dr. Phillip Zimmerman. They moved to Texas and had several children, one of whom, Phillip, when a candidate for the Senate, died one week before election.
