Youngblood-Armstrong & Allied Families

now Post Oak, Bullock Co. Ala., Sept. 15, 1842, d. 5/25/1922, m. 12/23/1863, Josephine Arthur Jenerette, b. 1/6/1943, d. 11/5/1913, a sister to Margaret, who married his brother John L. Youngblood. Thomas J. Youngblood was wounded in the War Between the States, while serving in Co. H. 18th Ala, and was publicly commended by Brig. Gen. Holts claw. He was County Commissioner and Trustee of Schools in Pike Co, for a number of years. When the Troy citizens planned a monument to honor the "Boys in Gray" from that vicinity, he was asked to serve on the committee, His name, together with those of histwo brothers, David B. and James J. who were killed in that war, and the name of a cousin, William Youngblood, appear on the monument.

Thomas J. and Josephine Youngblood had eight children.

a. Laura A. Youngblood, b. 10/23/1864, d. 2/2/1940, m. Dec. 1886, Robert M. Davis. Three children.

i. Shelton Davis, died young.

ii. Ruby Davis, married Howell Petry. Two enildren; Phylis, who married Lt. Col. C. A. Trotter and has three children: Felix, married Jean Trotter and has two children.

iii. Raymond Davis (dec'd), married Mattie Mc Gehee. Three children, Raymond, Robert and Annette.

b. David F. Youngblood, b. 11/17/1866, d. Feb. 1955, was co-founder, with his brother, James Algernon Youngblood, of the Southern Steel Co. of San Antonia, Texas, which is the world's largest manufacturer of jails. He married Cannie Stroud, about 1892. Five children;

i. Hull Youngblood, b. 6/10/1894, president of the Southern Steel Co, married Ruby Hollyfield. Two children Hull, Jr. and Ruby.

ii. Martha Youngblood, b. 7/24/1897, married George P. Isbell. Children; Dorothy and Martha.

iii. Cannie (Tip) Youngblood, b. 9/7/1900, married Maj. Gen. Rinaldo Van Brunt. Children, Johanna and Naldo.

iv. Josephine, Youngblood, b. 3/26/1903, married Ernest Enfinger. Child; Josephine.

v. Thomas, b. 12/22/1905. Resides in San Antonia, Tex.

c. John Bunyan Youngblood, Baptist Minister, b. 3/29/1869, died 3/20/1896. Unmarried.

d. James Algernon Youngblood, Co-founder, Southern Steel Co, born 10/28/1871, married Zella Prater. No children. Resides Dallas, Texas.

e. George Lester Youngblood, b. 11/25/1874, d. 2/15/19t>7, m. Josephine Ulmer, who died in Demopolis Ala. November 1960. No heirs.
