The Bellville Times says:
Hempstead is now known by the appropriate name of Six-shooter Junction...... From the 1st of August up to the 15th of September, 2024 bales of cotton were shipped from Bellville. Same time last year the shipment reached 2839. Cotton is coming in at the rate of 100 bales a day.
