The Hempstead Advance-Guard says:

The venerable old house, which is the home of Captain K. H. Faulkner, near Rock island, in this county, has quite a history.  It was first built at Velasco, then taken down and removed by boat up the Brazos City (a metropolis that never materialized), and again removed to its present site.  If the old house could talk it would doubtless many a tale unfold that would be interesting to Texans.
