State of Texas, County of Waller:
Before me, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared Joseph H. Farr, to me well known, who being by me duly sworn, upon oath says he is now a bona fide resident of the State of Texas, and as such citizen enlisted in the military service of the Confederate States in the late war between the States of the United States as a soldier, and while in active service was permanently disabled so as to seriously impair his ability to perform bodily labor and earn a living for himself and family, such enlistment and service, and wounds and disabilities received therein, being as follows:
"Was wounded in New Mexico in the month of April 1862 in the town of Padeas. I was a member of the Sibley Brigade fifth Texas Cavalry Commanded by Thos Green, and was wounded through both arms, both being broken. The sholder (sic) blade of the right shoulder almost entirely torn away and the left arm and is now stiffened partially."
That all property owned by affiant is not in value as much as one thousand dollars, and makes application for the land certificate, 1280 acres, given him by the act of April 9, 1881.

Also personally appeared T. F. Thompson, and Titus Johnson, creditable persons who being by me duly sworn upon oath, say they were present and saw Joseph H Farr, the claimant sign his name to the foregoing declaration, and that the statements made in said declaratioln are true and correct, to the best of our knowledge and belief, and that said Joseph H. Farr is the identical person he represents himself to be.
