For Safe Keeping. — On Tuesday deputy sheriff Chambers and two assistants arrived by the Central train from Hempstead, bringing Pete Moore, the negro who murdered city marshal Adams in that town on Saturday last. Moore was placed in jail here for safe keepin, as threats of hauging (sic) were liberally indulged in at Hempstead. Moore is a bright mulatto and was in our jail fome five years ago having been arrested on a capias. He has served two years in the penitentiary and is a bad negro. He is about 26 or 28 years old.
