- Robert H. Anderson purchased 81 2/10 acres of land in Jackson County, AL on June 1, 1831. The land was located in the SE part of fractional section twenty one, township seven, range three east in the Huntsville District. The land was later included within the boundary of Marshall County, AL when that county was formed in 1836.
Robert married a Lavonia ______ between 1825 and 1830. The Marshall County, AL 1840 census listed the Robert H. Anderson family with one male under 5, one male 40 - 50, one female under 5, one female 5 - 10, one female 10 - 15 and one female 20 - 30. Lavonia died in 1845 and Robert married (Margarett, Malissa or Elizabeth?) Dunn in 1846. The wife was listed as Malissa in the Marshall County 1850 census, Margarett M. in the Marshall County 1860 census and Elizabeth in the Jackson County, AL 1870 census. They had three sons. The family remained in Marshall County until Robert's death in 1860 and Milissa? continued to live in the county until after the close of the Civil War.
