- Obituary:
Loren B. Cloud, 72, of Nixa, died at 5:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in his home of an apparent heart attack. Services for Mr. Cloud were held Dec. 4 at the Harris Chapel, Ozark, with the Revs. Terry Kendrick and Joseph M. Fahl officiating. Burial was in Flood Cemetery, near Highlandville. Military rites were conducted by his American Legion and VFW Posts. Mr. Cloud had resided in the Jamesville and Nixa communities for all of his life. He was a member of the Hopedale Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Nixa American Legion Post No. 434 and of VFW Post 6758. Mr. Cloud was employed by Allied Bus Sales of Nixa, and was a retired U.S. Government mail contractor. Surviving are his wife, Wilma; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Dee, of Nixa; a daughter, Linda Smith and son-in-law Everett, of Ozark; his mother, Mrs. Agnes Cloud, Carthage; three brothers and their wives; Lloyd and Patti, Carthage, Calvin and Charlotte Cloud, Monett, Dean and Viola Cloud, Carl Junction; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Otto Sims, Hurley; four grandchildren, Marsha Matthews and Mark Smith, Ozark, Stanci and Eric Cloud, Nixa; three great-grandchildren, Brandy Matthews, Ozark, and Jeremy and Joshua Smith, Nixa; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
