Funeral services for Edith Cloud Kirksey, 86, of Dawson, were held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Dawson, with Minister Jim Parker officiating.
Interment followed at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 151, Dawson, GA 39842.
Mrs. Kirksey died Jan. 29, 2007, at Dawson Manor Nursing Home. A native of Decatur County, she graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended Middle Georgia College for two years. She lived in Dawson most of her life, where she was a homemaker and member of the Dawson Church of Christ. She was a volunteer with the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life Projects and the 4-H Club. She also enjoyed china painting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Thomas Kirksey Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin T. Kirksey Jr. of Magee, Miss., and Edward ?Eddie? J. Kirksey of Dawson; one brother, Phil Cloud of Torrance, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Holliman of Sandy Springs, Ga., and Joanne Newberry of Bainbridge; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Harvey Funeral Home of Dawson was in charge of arrangements.

DAWSON ? Edith Cloud Kirksey, 86, of Dawson died at Dawson Manor Nursing Home on Monday, January 29, 2007.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2007, at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jim Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Baptist Church Church cemetery.
Mrs. Kirksey was a native of Decatur County born August 25, 1920, daughter of the late Ed A. Cloud and Avo Boles Cloud. She graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended Middle Georgia College for two years.
She lived in Dawson most of her life where she was a homemaker and was a member of the Dawson Church of Christ. Edith was a volunteer with the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life Projects and the 4-H Club. She also enjoyed china painting and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Thomas Kirksey Sr. who died in 1973.
Survivors include two sons: Calvin T. Kirksey Jr. and wife, Cindy of Magee, MS, Edward ?Eddie? J. Kirksey and wife, Cindy of Dawson; one brother, Phil Cloud of Torrance, CA; two sisters: Margaret Holloman of Sandy Springs and Joanne Newburg of Bainbridge; two grandchildren, Tracy K. Brewster of Round Rock, TX, and Jessica L. Kirksey of Dawson; two great- grandchildren, Hayden and Colton Brewster of Round Rock, TX.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Harvey Funeral Home.
