Services held for Dr. Arthur B. Cloud
AMES -- Dr. Arthur B. Cloud, 66, of Ames and formerly of Marshalltown and Melbourne, died of cancer Sunday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Ames with the Reverend David Digby and David Beal, MIN, officiating. Burial was in the Melbourne Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born March 1, 1924 in St. Joseph, MO, to Arthur B. Sr. and Marie Spillman Cloud. He was a graduate of Salina (Kan.) High School, Ruttgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, and Tufts Medical School in Boston, MA. He interned at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, CO, and completed his residency at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.
Mr. Cloud lived in Melbourne from 1956 to 1960 and in Marshalltown from 1960 to 1976 and moved to Ames in 1976 and was the assistant director for student health services at Iowa State University at the time of his death.
Mr. Cloud was a veteran of World War II and on July 2, 1950 he married Shirley M. Jones in Des Moines.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Iowa Medical Society, Story County Medical Society, Mary Greeley Medical Center staff, and the Academy of Family Practice.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, a son, Thomas A. Cloud of Houston, TX, two daughtrs, Tamia Jo (Cloud) Bible of Houston, TX, and Marla Sue Cloud of Houston, TX, a sister, Geane M. Chubbuck of Concordia KS, and a granddaughter.
