    • Obituary:
      Mrs. Sarah Margaret CLOUD,  1865 - 1950
Sarah Margaret CLOUD date of death March 25, 1950.
"Mrs. Sarah Margaret CLOUD, Aunt Mag or Grandma Cloud as she was called by most of us who knew and loved her, was born  Feb. 23, 1865, in East Tennessee (Monroe County) and came to Arkansas at an early age with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Davis,  who settled  some four or five miles west of Benton, in which is now  know as the Mount View community. She was married at the age of eighteen years to Tilman Howard CLOUD, who departed this life twenty-two years ago at the age of sixty-three.
To this union were born twelve children, seven of who survive, four girls and three boys: Mrs. Ella WATTS and Mrs. Anna REED of Benton. Mrs. Ollie Haley of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Ora YARBROUGH of Benton; Henry, Tilford and Lilburn CLOUD, all of Benton; one sister, Mrs. Emma WATTS of Malvern; one brother, Charles D. DAVIS, Benton.
Aunt Mag was eighty-five years, one month and one day old. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a true devoted Christian, having accepted Christ at an early age. She lived a useful Christian life for herself, her family and community.
I always loved to visit Aunt Mag. One of my earliest recollections is visiting her with my grandparents. She was always the same any day of the week, for she lived her Christian life daily. One of her last words to me was "I'm ready to go home to heaven; I'm tired of this place," so I feel we should rejoice instead of weep, for I can see her now in the arms of Jesus where I hope to meet her one of these days.
She brought up a well-respected and useful family. She lived a good life, she fought a good fight and lived a good life; she kept the true faith, so why grieve over one who has exchanged the old cross for a crown. I know it's only nature for the children to grieve for her for they have given up one of the greatest true and Christian mothers who ever lived, but I'll say, just look up and believe as she did and it won't be but short time until you will be with mother, never to part again.
And let me say to the grandchildren, you proved by your actions that Aunt Mag was a devoted, Christian grandmother. Ill never forget the kindness shown to Aunt Mag by her grandchildren; also the friends who so graciously offered their assistance.
Grandma CLOUD will live long in the memory of her relatives and friends. My hope is that I may partially live the good life of Mother CLOUD . I know that I can't live the full life as she did, and I would like to, through these few lines, extend my heartfelt sympathy to her children, grandchildren and friends.
A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
      Which never can be filled.
Written by her niece, Mrs. Sid Shelnut, 324 Second street, Benton."
This appeared in the Benton Courier a few days after March 25, 1950.

**  It is thought the 1920 census below is another family, as this family lived their lives in Saline county, AR.  Also -- the two daughters should have been on the 1910 census above and they aren't, implying they were 4 and 2 years old but living with someone else, not logical.
