    • Went to LA about 1792 as a missionary, Savannah, GA 1796-1816, Greenville, MS till 1832, TX till 1833.
      Morristown, NJ, Jan 31, 1788 came to Natchez 1792.  Three years later he was arrested & carried to the headquarters of Gayoso, who sent him bound to Carondelet, govenor general of New Orleans.  After a long delay Carondelet gave him his choice to go to Spain and be tried by the Inquistion or leave the colony forever.  He chose the latter.  His family (children not mentioned) joined him and they moved to Savannah, GA where he remained 20 yrs.  In about 1816 he returned to MS and settled near Greenville.  In 1820 he took charge of Christ Church in Jefferson Co. where he lived until 1832, when he went to Brazoria, TX where he died May 1834 and his wife May 1832.
      According the Delaware, Revolutionary Patriot Listings Cloud, Adam.  He subscribed to the Oath of Allegiance and Fidelity in 1778.
      Not named in will of father Robert Cloud.  One A.S. Cloud died on March 11, 1818 and is buried in the Friends Cemetery at Hockessin.
