- They lived in Virginia until the late 1790's. In 1799, he was on the Washington County Kentucky Tax List living on Cartwright's Creek.
Anderson and Mary were on the original membership roll (1805) of the Bethlehem Baptist church near Texas, Kentucky where he was elected deacon in January 1806. In October 1825 he was licensed to preach. They subsequently moved to Hardin County, Kentucky in 1832.
Anderson farmed and worked as a blacksmith. His sons Isham, Hugh and William also worked as "smiths". He was elected justice of the peace April 2nd 1821.
