Notes |
- Eugene and Monique immigrated (reportedly fleeing from the German Army, perhaps trying to avoid service in it) from Liverpool October 4, 1881. They came into the Port of New Orleans aboard the SS St Louis (passengers 151 and 152) and settled in the area. Eugene knew no English, but started working as a cabinet worker with the railroad. He left his wife in the early 1900's and took up with another woman, name unknown. After the woman's death (before 1910), his daughter Hortense talked him into coming back to the family.
