- I find no mention in any documentation (censuses in this case) of Sally Carter b. 1894 being the daughter of Elbert Carter.
-- Alice also never appears on a census with them. She appears in the 1910 census living with her brother Wylie. Since her last name is Carter and she's single, I assume she is a daughter of Elbert ??
-- Memory May Carter also never appears, but she is included since others have her in their family trees. She was born 1880 so she isn't on the census because of the lost 1890 census (she was 20 by 1900 and probably living on her own, maybe even married).
-- The same goes for Ithea Elbert, Alvie Vesta and Lova Belle Carter ... none of them appear on any census with Elbert.

Elbert Carter served in the CSA TX Civil War. July 1, 1861, Lt Horace Lesuer Co, Milam Co 27th T H Brig. Later 4th TX Cavalry. He was wounded.
