  Notes	John Cravey, eldest son of David Cravey Sr and Susannah Studstill Cravey, was born in that part of Telfair County, GA that is now part of Dodge County. He was a farmer, and lived near Milan, in what is Dodge County.  He died in 1885.     John Cravey enlisted in the Confederate Army as a private in 1864. He joined Company I, 7th Militia, Anderson's Brigade, Army of Hood.  He was promoted to the rank of Captain during the war.  He fought with honors in battles Atlanta and at Griswoldville near Macon. None of his sons served in the CSA.     In 1845 he married Elizabeth Campbell, Daughter of Daniel Campbell. Elizabeth was born in 1825, also in Telfair County, GA. Elizabeth and John had nine children.  Elizabeth died in 1869.     John married second to Sarah Burnham, Daughter of Alfred Burnham, 1870.  Sarah was born in Telfair County in 1842, and died in 1878. John and Sarah had three children.     John married a third time to Cealey Pickren, daughter of Lovett Pickren, 1879.  John and Cealey had four children.     John died intestate in 1885.  His third wife survived him.  His body is buried in the Cravey/Campbell Cemetery just south of Rhine. His first two wives are also buried there, as well as the mother of Cealey Pickren, his third wife.  There were also some children, who died in infancy, who are not listed in this genealogy.  Those infants are also buried in this cemetery.  There are also several other members of Elizabeth Campbell's family, including Daniel Campbell, also buried there.  The Cravey/Campbell Cemetery, like many others in Dodge and Telfair Counties, was long ago abandoned and has been neglected.     John Cravey was a prominent citizen of Telfair County.  He owned a large amount of land in both Telfair and Dodge Counties.  Following his death, his two sons, Henry and Loch Cravey, were appointed administrators by the Ordinary of Telfair County, Alex McDuffie. There received permission to sell all the real estate on November 1, 1886. The real estate consisted of 1215 acres (6 lots) in the 9th District of Telfair County, and 405 acres (2 lots) in the 14th District of Dodge County.     John Cravey owned other lands in the two counties, but he made gift deeds to his two older children before his death.  He also gave one lot (202.5 acres) to Joshua Campbell, a lifelong devoted black farm hand.
