"The Daily Times" of Davenport Iowa, Wednesday, September 15, 1920, carried her obituary:
"Mrs. Ford T. Harrington died last night at 10: 30 o'clock at her home, 511 Gaines street, Davenport. Death was due to cancer. Mrs. Harrington had been a resident of Blandinsville, Ill., where she was born on June 14, 1855, and where she had been married to Ford Harrington in November, 1875. Mr. Harrington survives."
"Mrs. Delma Tuggle of Clay Center, Kansas., the only child of the deceased, arrived in Davenport in time to be present at her mother's death."
"By request of Mrs. Harrington, there will be no service at her home or at the Calvary Baptist church where she had been a member. Brief rites will be observed tomorrow afternoon at 1: 30 o'clock at Oakdale cemetery with Rev. A. Frank Houser in charge."

The first road through Sciota township was built about 1858. The town of Sciota was organized as Clarksville in 1867 by William B. Clark. It was later renamed Amicus and then Sciota after the township in which it was located. "Among the early merchants were Obermeyer & Brothers, J.R. Seybold, R.L. Shouse and Silas Webb." (p. 122).
