          In "The History of McDonough County, 1885" pg 623-4, it says that James Seybold was one of the earliest settlers of Hire Township, coming to the county in 1830 and settling four miles North of Blandinsville, on what is termed a squatter's claim, where he staid (sic) two years.

      In the "History of McDonough County, 1885", pg. 623, "Early Settlers", it says that Robert Seybold came to Hire township in the fall of 1830 and lived in section 4 and then moved to Blandinsville, where he died in 1869.  That he was born in Virginia on August 10, 1793 and was reared in Kentucky from 4 years of age.  He is listed in the 1810 census of Washington County Kentucky.
      The "History" says that Robert's paternal ancestors were German and his mother's people were English.
      Children John L. and Robert D. added because of gravestones saying they were "son of R. & M. Seybold".
