    Notes
    • On p. 50 of YOUNGBLOOD-ARMSTRONG & ALLIED FAMILIES is written (The Youngbloods) "lived along the Eastern Seabord in Maryland and Virginia for more than one hundred years before joining the migration southward.  They settled in North Carolina in time to become involved in the War of the Regulation in that state.  The Regulation Movement was organized about 1768, by Protestants whose center was Orange County, as a protest to the oppression of corrupt British officials. Some historians refer to this movement as the Forerunner of the Revolution and consider those who took part in it as martyrs to the cause of American Independence...."
"Thomas Youngblood was one of the Signers of the Petition sent to the British officials by the Regulators in 1768, according to the Colonial Records on North Carolina....  Three other Youngblood men also were signers of the petition, John, James and Peter Youngblood, several Miles men were also signers.  This is significant since the Miles intermarried with the Youngbloods in Maryland and moved to North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama also."
"Still seeking an opportunity to live in peace, Thomas Youngblood moved on down into South Carolina about 1770, but again his hopes were not fulfilled for the War of the Revolution was inevitable.  Thomas Youngblood again offered his services to those who love freedom."
