She introduced me to the Quaker Religion as a young boy for which I have always been grateful." Ernie Coffman adds that he attended this church throughout his youth, also. "Even when we shut that church down and moved in with the one in Berkeley, but then I found out more about girls and started attending other churches."
She graduated from Normal School and taught in Red Bluff

Harriet we called her Aunt Hattie had one daughter, Mrs. David (Viola) Hughes of Oakland, Cal. who has visited here. [Viola] had one daughter, Alice, who had visited the Fairbank s home. We don't know about the rest of the family.

Aunt Viola raised Ernie Coffman from the time he was a baby because his mother, Millie, had to work at the Washington Market. They lived at Aunt Viola's house.
Burial: Her remains are at the Chapel of Memories on corner Piedmont Ave near Mountain View Cemetery.
