  Notes	William Hoffman was born in Austin County, Texas in the Buckhorn area where his father had bought land.  He moved to Bellville near the yards and he and his wife Emma rented out rooms in their home.  This home burned and so they moved to Brownwood, Texas where they lived at his death.  In Brownwood, Mr. Hoffman did odd jobs and carried a pistol in his boot which went off and shot him in the foot.  He was a tall man and loved to fish and read western novels.
