- Obituary:
Michael Joseph Cloud of Marshall VA and The Villages, Fl. born April 6, 1940 died peacefully, surrounded by his family in the Villages on March 30, 2017.
Michael is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patty, his daughter Cathy, of Groton CT and sons Marion (Lora H. Cloud) of Hume VA, Patrick (Vicki S. Cloud) of Nokesville VA and J. Chris (Deborah P. Cloud) of Jost Van Dyke, BVI and Marcello DelVeccio of Amissville VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Patrick, Sarah, Alex, Maggie, Jeremy Maestri, Rebecca Maestri, Megan Galliazzo and Ryan Sadler; his sisters Nitha Vos, Ann Ridlon and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Marion Rector Cloud and Imogene Miller Cloud, his son Michael Paul Marra-Cloud, his granddaughter Katlyn Cloud-Borgstedt and his brother John Cloud.
Michael owned and was retired from several auto and recreational vehicle sales and rental companies in several east coast states. He was an avid motorcycle rider, taking many rides and long trips with family and friends across the country. Mike loved travelling, roller coasters and the Redskins (no matter what!)
In nearly forty-eight years in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, Michael touched hundreds of lives with his faith, humility, empathy, loyalty, tolerance, and inclusion. He was also a descendant of John Rector who established Rectortown in 1772 in Fauquier County, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made in Michael's name to The Benedictine Sisters Transitional Housing Center BARN, Bristow VA, The St. Martin de Porres House of Hope, Chicago Ill, or to the Middleburg Humane Foundation, Marshall VA
Family will receive visitors on April 20 2017 at Moser Funeral Home 233 Broadview Ave Warrenton, VA from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Warrenton on Friday April 21 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
Reception immediately following the service at Claire's at the Depot in Warrenton.
