Death Sudden for Mrs. Henry E. Nix; Rites Tomorrow
Mrs. Dora Flint Nix, 74, wife of Henry E. Nix, died unexpectedly at 6:35 o'clock Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. Mrs. Nix is said to have suffered a heart attack earlier in the afternoon and was removed to the hospital.
Funeral rites, will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Gray-Sorrells Funeral Chapel, Rev. John Morphis, pastor of Wesley Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Mt. Carmel near Wolfe City.
The body will rest at the funeral home.
A native of Hunt County, Mrs. Nix was born in the Mt. Carmel Community near Wolfe City on February 9, 1877. Her parents were W. H. Caldwell and Carrie Wilson Caldwell. She was married to Henry E. Nix on December 8, 1898 in Wolfe City and they moved to Greenville soon after the marriage. She had lived here since except for three years at Winnsboro.
A member of Wesley Methodist Church since early life, Mrs. Nix was also a member of the Auxiliary of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Her greatest interests were her family her home and friends it was said. At the time of her death she resided at 1814 Jones Street.
Surviving are her husband, Henry E. Nix; a daughter, Mrs. J. V. Sikes of Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, Newt Caldwell of Wolfe City and Jeff Caldwell of Greenville, several nieces and nephews and other relatives. One son, John Hobson Nix, died in 1903, also four sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
