Charles Marlin Cloud, 49, Eagle River, Alaska, formerly of Bremerton, and his wife, Marlene, 40, Eagle River, were killed in an airplane crash in the Owyhee Mountains in Idaho. They were the only two passengers in the small private plane, a Cherokee Warrior, which was en route from Boise, Idaho, to Elko, Nev.
The plane went down Thursday as a result of a storm. The wreckage was sighted Saturday and the bodies were recovered Sunday and taken to Owyhee, Nev. The couple was on vacation from Anchorage, Alaska, headed for the Bahamas. Mr Cloud was the pilot.
He was born July 21, 1925, in Seattle.
He attended schools in Bremerton and Silverdale and joined the Air Force as a firefighter when he was 17 years old.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Linda Shroduer, Hillsboro, Ore., Kathryn Salisbury, Eagle River, Alaska, and Lori M. Cloud, of the family home; two sons, Jeff and Jimmy, both of the family home; his mother, Ida May Shelton, Port Orchard, three brothers, Capt. Daniel S. and Joseph, both of Alaska, and Leland Jr., Peru; three sisters, Mrs. Rose M. Murphy, Seattle, Mrs. Carolyn Knapp, Silverdale, and Mrs. Irma Sayers, Federal Way.
Funeral services are pending in Anchorage, Alaska.
