- Obituary:
WINTERS -- Dorothy Nell Modisett, 81, died Tuesday in Abilene.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Winters First Baptist Church with the Revs. Glenn Shoemake and Gayland Broadstreet officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mrs. Modisett was born in Mason and moved to Winters as a child. She married W.E. "Doc" Modisett in 1933 in Runnels County and worked at the Winters school cafeteria, Abilene State School and as a nurse's aide at the Winters Nursing Home. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, of Winters; two sons, Robert Modisett of Lamesa and Bill Modisett of Greenwood; two daughters, Shirley Tekell of Wingate and Sonjia Frierson of Abilene; three sisters, Golda Prosise of Odessa, and Benny Pine and Robbie Cotter, both of Winters; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
