    • Queen Jeanne of Navarre, daughter of Louis X of France, was a victim of the plaque, and died in 1349.  Tuchman states that Alfonso XI of Castile, who also died, was the only monarch to die in the epidemic. But Queen Jeanne was also on the throne of Navarre at the time.  She was survived by her son Charles d Albret of Navarre, who succeeded her.
