Lieutenant William White
Warrant No. 945 was issued to a portion of the heirs of the late Lieut. William White, dec'd. Oct. 22, 1850. Warner White, Atty.
Hanover Co. court, Feb. 25, 1851. It was proven in court by the evidence of Silas White that Lewis G. White, dec'd., son of Lieut. William White who died in the county of Hanover in the year 1820 left the following children who are his only heirs at law, namely: Eliza F. Phillips, formerly Eliza White; Joseph R. White, William L. White and Albert White. Copy test, B.M. Winston, Clerk Hanover Co.
Warrant 9245 was issued 22 Oct., 1850 to George P. Phillips, John F. Phillips and Minerva Pleasants, formerly Minerva Phillips, heirs at law of Lieut. William White, dec'd. Recorded Book 3, page 531.
Note. There were eleven heirs at law of Lieutenant White.
The heirs of William White are allowed L.B. for his services as a Lieutenant in the State line from May 1st, 1775 until colse of the war, deductging the amount of the previous allowannce. John Floyd, Gov.
Andrew McDowell and Eliza J. McDowell, formerly Eliza White, daugh. of Lieut. William White, ded'd. appointed Warner White their Atty. 7 Apl., 1840. Note. William White was a Lieut. in Col. Gibson's Regt.
Hanover Co. Before Charles P. Goodall, J. of P. the above named heirs ackn. the power of Atty. 7 Apl., 1840. Teste, Philip B. Winston, Clerk.
A letter addressed to Warner White from C.O. White, Salem, contains the following power of Atty.. "Chilleon White appointed Warner White of Caroline Co., Va. his Atty. to obtain warrant for the services of my father, Lieut. William White, dec'd." The letter appears to have been from Beaver Dam, Hanover Co., but has also the name, Salem on it.
This Power of Atty. was ackn. before W.C. Bowyer, J. of P. 15 Oct., 1839. W.C. Cook, clerk of Roanoke Co. certified as to W.C. Bowyer, "who is a Magistrate of Roanoke Co."
Hanover Co. court, Oct. 3, 1830. Ordered certified that upon the oath of D.G. Brown and Melton M. Brown, that Lieut. William White, late of Hanover Co. left at the time of his death, the following children: Richard B., William, Silas, Warner, Chileon O., Alice (married Andrew McCowell) and Edmund White, all of whom are believed to be now living, also the following children who are dead: Lewis G., Nancy (who married Elijah Partlow) and Elizabeth (who married Thomas Phillips) White. These are though to have left children, but their names are not known. William White also had two other children who died unmarried: Milley and James White.

Va. land office, Oct. 5, 1850 Received of Register warrant 9239 for 810-2/11 acres issued to eight of the heirs of Lieut. William White, late of the Rev. war. Signed, Warner White, Atty.
Hanover Co., Va. 26 June, 1839. Richard B. White, Milicent White, Alice, Silas and Edmund T. White, George Phillips, John T. Phillips, Joseph C. Pleasants, and Miverva. Acknowledged Warner White as their Atty. Certified, M.M. Brown, J. of P. Teste, Philip B. Winston, Clerk.
Hanover Co. court. Oct. 9, 1850. Upon the oath of Warner White, the court ordered certified that Elizabeth White, a daughter of Lieut. William White who married Thomas Phillips, and died some time since, leaving at the time of her death the following children: William M., George P., John T., and Minerva Phillips (who married Joseph Pleasants). That the said William M. Phillips has not been heard from for eight or ten years. Certified as true transcript from the records of Hanover Co. court. William O. Winston, Clerk of Circuit court.
"At any time an order of court is presented proving the heirs of Lewis White, son of Lieut. William White, I will issue a warrant, and also for Ann T. Partlow, formerly Ann T. White." Signed, S.H. Parker, Register of Land Off.
Received of Register, Mar. 6, 1851, warrant 9281 in favor of a portion of the heirs at law of Lieut. William White. Signed, Warner White, Atty.
