- Obituary:
Mr. Jerry Douglas "Doug" Cloud, III, 28, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, February 15, 2013. He was born August 3, 1984 in Hot Springs, the son of Jerry Douglas Cloud, II and Jennifer Purtee Cloud.
Mr. Cloud was the owner and operator of Better Built Structures, and a member of the New Life Church in Hot Springs. He enjoyed fishing, boating on the Hamilton and Lake Ouachita. He loved cars, and was a member of the Sound Waves Club, and installed stereos in cars competitively. He was a Razorback fan, and enjoyed playing video games and golfing. He was a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School, and was currently working on a degree in business and finance at Ouachita Baptist University.
Mr. Cloud was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Douglas Cloud, II; his step-father, Billy Harris, Jr.; his maternal grandfather, Roger Purtee; paternal grandfather, Jerry Douglas Cloud, I; maternal great-grandparents, Charles and May Scaff; his paternal great-grandmother, Edith Partee; and one uncle, Terry Cloud.
He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Purtee Cloud of Hot Springs; one sister, Jenalyn Harris of Hot Springs; one uncle, Greg Purtee of Ormond Beach, Florida; three aunts, Delores Cloud of Houston, Texas, Stephanie and Del Stracener of Denver, Colorado, and Debbie Purtee of Portsmouth, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Purtee of Hot Springs; paternal grandparents, Jackie Hoyle of Cabot and Gene Barbee of Hot Springs; three cousins, Nathan Bortz of Hot Springs, and Alisha Mangum of Columbia, South Carolina, Kaitlyn "Katie" Mae Cloud of Tuckerman; his dogs, Lucky and Pal; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, noon until service. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Cloud, Danny Cloud, Ryan Cloud, Rodney Cloud, and Kaeton Mears.
