James E. Cloud
James E. Cloud, 60, of McAlester, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at McAlester Regional Health Center.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at High Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Doyle Ginn and the Rev. Jarrod Cloud officiating. Burial will be at Sans Bois Cemetery near Kinta. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.Born Feb. 25, 1950, in Lequire, he was the son of Burnie and Ruby (Mathis) Cloud. He graduated from Quinton High School as Valedictorian in 1968, from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton in 1970 and received his bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1972.His high school years, he won many medals and trophies showing his livestock, which was one of his passions. Later he loved riding horses and road in the Bicentennial Wagon Train.He married Carol Wren on July 1, 1972, in Quinton. He started working at Farmers State Bank in Quinton on July 5, 1972, and went to the Red Oak Branch in June 1986, and left there on Aug. 31, 1995.He worked at the Feed Mill in Muskogee, McAlester Stockyards and John's Supermarket in Quinton before starting work at Boeing in McAlester.He was a member of the FFA and the Oklahoma Young Farmers Association. He was a farmer and rancher and loved the outdoors, fishing and camping.Survivors include his wife, Carol Cloud, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kassie and Errik Watkins, of Savanna, and Keri and Brent Barnhart, of Tulsa; one grandson, Hunter Watkins, of Savanna.Also, four sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Ken Shields, of Quinton, Sue and Bill Blankenship, of Hugo, Shirley and Tommy Braswell, of McAlester, and Linda and Tom Reeder, of Savanna.And, five brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Shirley Cloud, of McAlester, Jackie Cloud and Marie, of Rattan, Ray and Patricia Cloud, of Stigler, Arlie Cloud, of Haileyville, and Gary and Barbara Cloud, of Quinton.And, sister-in-law and spouse, Ramona and Walt Reed, of Choctaw; brother-in-law and spouse, Lowell and Louise Wren, of Choctaw, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother and sister; two sisters-in-law, Helen Cloud and Joyce Cloud, and one brother-in-law, Lowell Pugh.Pallbearers will be Tim Cloud, Jackie Dale Cloud, Darryl Cloud, Ron Cloud, Mike Cloud and Gerald Cloud.Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Aishman, Toby Ezekial, Spud Harmon and Leon Oller.
