Graveside services for Opal M. Rogers, 86, of Rockdale were held Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in Oak Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Margaret Clemings of Hospice Chaplain officiating.
Mrs. Rogers died Friday, Oct. 17, at Manor Oaks Nursing Home.
She was a Rockdale resident for the past 65 years, having lived in a number of cities throughout the U.S. before returning to Rockdale.
Mrs. Rogers was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Rockdale to Lee and Maggie (Davenport) Diver.
She married Dick Rogers on July 1, 1947, in Rockdale.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and attended school in Rockdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Rogers, on Aug. 14, 1984, and a brother, Vernon Diver.
Survivors are two sons, Wayne Rogers and wife Janice, Joe Bill Rogers and wife Donna, all of Rockdale; a daughter, Helen J. Bolmes and husband Warren of Oak Harbor, Washington; a brother, Lee Diver and wife Carmen of Rockdale; and nine grandchildren, Vicki Stackhouse, Terri Richter, Brad Bolmes, Corey Rogers, Wendy Praesel, Melanie Earley, Marcus Evans, Richard Evans and Clayton Evans; also, 19 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
