Joe Lewis Caywood
Caywood, Lewis "Shorty" of Rockdale. Age 78. Died May 3, 1984 (Thursday) in Richards Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months. Services held (Friday) in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in IOOF Cemetery. Rev. George Doss officiated.
He was born August 2, 1905 in Milam Co. to M/M. William Isaac and Miranda Frances Lowe Caywood. Married Elsie English on September 6, 1949 in Cameron. He was a self-employed carpenter and painter.
Survivors: Wife, Elsie Caywood of Rockdale; son, Joe Caywood of Pettibone; 3 step-sons, William E. Clinard of Temple, Myrl Clinard of North Carolina and Van Clinard of Silsbee; 2 step-daughters, Bernice Stephens of San Antonio and Jane Widmer of San Marcos; 2 sisters, Susan Davis of Wichita Falls and Elizabeth Cotton of Milano; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Burial: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rockdale, Texas.
