    • Obituary:
      Death came to one of Rowan County's oldest citizen,. better known as Uncle Buddy. He died at the home of his grandson Edgar Hall. William Thomas Hall was born in Rowan county Feb 26, 1854, and was there until the time of his death. He celebrated his birthday on Saturday but on Thursday Mrs. Ed Hall had a birthday dinner in his honor and for Rev Ramah Johnson and Miss Grace Crosthwaite.
      He was married to Sarah Riddle on Feb 23, 1871. She preceded him in death by eleven years. He has been a member of the Church of God for 65 years and preached for almost the entire time. For the past ten years he has made his home with his grandson and family Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hall.
      He lost his sight about seven years ago, and since that time has been constantly cared for by Mrs. Hall. He suffered an attack of flu in January, but had recovered from that, when on Friday he walked out into the yard and caught cold. Saturday he was quite ill, but by Sunday morning had developed pneumonia which caused his death that evening.
      Uncle Buddy leaves to mourn his passing his four sons Rev. Worley Hall, Noah Hall, George Hall of Morehead, and Henry Hall of Muncie and there are three daughters, Mrs. John Barber, Mrs. George Barber and Mrs. Boone Williams.
      Funeral services held at Church of God Tuesday with Rev. Ramah Johnson in charge. Burial was in the Glennis Fraley cemetery.
