He was buried in the Brown Cemetery, Pound Ridge, NY. His tombstone says, "In memory of Benajah Brown who died in May 1822 age 73 yrs." His name is also spelled Benijah. He is listed as Benajah Brown in the DAR Patriot Index, Centennial Edition, Part 1.
