Hansel Goodman
June 4, 1918 - March 28, 2009
Hansel was born on June 4, 1918 in Jenny Lind, Arkansas to William Charles and Willie Wilbern (Wilson) Goodman. He moved to Oklahoma in 1937, living mostly in rural Southeastern Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1945. Hansel worked as a jet mechanic, large equipment operator, and a farmer. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed working with his hands, building things and growing things. He loved to garden and for as long as he had a place he always grew a big garden. Hansel will be dearly missed by those he has left behind.
Hansel was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jodie Harold Goodman; four brothers and three sisters.
Hansel is survived by two children, William Goodman of Amity, OR and Betty Shannon of Hillsboro, OR; four grandchildren, Peter Goodman of McMinnville, OR, Don Shannon of Aloha, OR, Mark Goodman of McMinnville, OR, and David Goodman of Gresham, OR; eight great-grandchildren, all living in Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.

DURANT, Okla. - Hansel Goodman, 90-year-old Durant resident, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 in Sulphur, Okla. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with James Moss officiating.
Burial will follow at Bokchito Cemetery.
Surviving are his son, William Goodman of Amity, Ore.; daughter, Betty Shannon of Hillsboro, Ore.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
