      Kenneth E. Fincher
      KINGSPORT - Kenneth E. Fincher, 80, died unexpectedly Friday (July 9, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.
      He was a 1942 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, where he was a drum major of the Dobyns-Bennett band. After high school, he attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington and was also a drum major in college.
      Kenneth was a World War II Coast Guard veteran.
      He retired from Mead Paper in Kingsport after 40 years of service as an instrument specialist.
      Mr. Fincher accepted the Lord in 1960 and was a member of Kingsport Community Church, where he taught the Reflectors Sunday School class for many years and was also a lay speaker. Kenneth loved music and all crossword puzzles, especially those in the New York Times.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, O.N. and Nannie B. Fincher; and a sister, Glenna Sells.
      Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Cloud Fincher ; two daughters, Tracie Fincher and Terri Fincher McCormick and husband, Bill; one very special granddaughter, Chelsea Lynn McCormick, whom he loved with all his heart; sister, Jenny Fincher ; and several nieces and nephews.
      Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
      Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Lowe and the Rev. Mark Stayton officiating.
      Entombment will follow at Tri-Cities Mausoleum.
      Pallbearers will be Robert Cloud, Danny Cloud, John Cloud, David Cloud, David Cloninger, Mike Lowe and Bill McCormick.
      Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Watkins and the Reflectors Sunday School class.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingsport Community Church, 2316 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
