- Obituary:
Travis Kent Hagler of Redding, a motorcycle enthusiast, died in an accident at the Shasta Dam Hare Scrambles at Shasta Dam on Sunday, March 28, 2004. He was 21.
Mr. Hagler was born in Calaveras County and was raised in Hathaway Pines. His sister, Chelsea Summer Hagler, was born in 1984, and in 1991 the family moved to Shasta County. Both Travis and Chelsea returned to Calaveras County with their father in 1997 and both attended and graduated from Bret Harte High School. After graduation, Travis attended Westwood College of Technology in Southern California, where he studied computer programming. He graduated in June 2003.
Mr. Hagler loved computer technology and also planned on following in his father's footsteps by getting a contractor's license.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ted and Colleen Hagler of Murphys; his mother and stepfather, Debra and Dan Mabry of Redding, and his sister, who is now attending college in Southern California.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 3, in Redding. The family prefers memorials in the form of donations to the Travis Hagler Memorial Scholarship Fund, 3125 Inverness St., Redding, CA 96002.
