MRS. E.B. GHEEN DIES SUDDENLY
Mary Goodwin Gheen, wife of Ezekiel B. Gheen, West Grove, passed away at her home, Saturday afternoon. Death was sudden, the result of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Born March 4, 1890, she was a life long resident of Kennett Square until moving to West Grove nine years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Kennett Square, the Flora Rebekah Lodge 583 and was Past Noble Grand. Her parents were the late William and Hanna Vandegrift Goodwin.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ezekiel, are her stepmother, Bertha Goodwin; the following children: William G. Gheen, Chatham; Dorothy G., wife of John McCardle, West Grove, and Elizabeth G., wife of Harvey C. Underwood, Jr., Landenberg, and four grandchildren. Also the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Lawrence Pyle, Secane, Delaware county; Helen and Alyce Goodwin, Kennett Square; Charles Goodwin, Clayton, N.J.; Mrs. Ray Chevalier, Syracuse, N.Y. and Mrs. Francis Barton, Wilmington, and several nieces and nephews.
