Floyd E. Wiess
NEDERLAND -- Floyd Wiess, 73, of 1203 Avenue H, Nederland, died today at 4:18 a.m. in Mid-Jefferson county hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Sabine Pass, Mr. Wiess had lived in the Mid-county area since 1929. He was a retired wharf tender and formerly worked for 40 years at the Mobil Oil refinery in Beaumont. He was a member of First United Methodist church of Nederland and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Rosabelle Weiss; and one son, Richard D. Wiess, both of Nederland; one brother, L.C. Wiess of Houston; seven sisters, Mrs. Ed Granger of Texas City, Mrs. Herbert Sattemire of Galveston, Mrs. Tom Ridley of Beaumont, Mrs. Vivian Bromley of Sabine Pass, and Mrs. Buster McGaffey, Mrs. C.J. Bromley and Mrs. Fred Austin, all of Aransas Pass; two granddaughters and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Weldon Davis Funeral home chapel. The Rev. Archie Fleming, pastor of First United Methodist church of Nederland, will officiate. Burial will be in Green lawn Memorial park in Port Arthur.
