She was born March 10, 1927 in Cravens, Louisiana to Ocie and Della Ann Spikes. She was a resident of Groves for 15 years. A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday June 14, 2007 from 6-8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10 AM Friday June 15, 2007 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery. Nellie is survived by her husband W.W. Whittington of Groves, son Michael W. Whittington of Austin, daughter Bonnie L. Certa of Port Arthur, brother O'Neal Spikes of Longville, Louisiana, sisters Fay Scott of Orange, Melba Brown of Kirbyville, and Elta Rae Hauser of Longville, Louisiana. 5200 W.
